Google's PowerMeter Will Help Homeowners Save Energy and Money

Leave it to Google to to help us save energy. How, you ask? Well they are developing a device that will help us all understand many of the following questions:

- How much it costs to leave your TV on all day?

- How much does it cost to lower your air conditioning 1 degree?

- Does your refridgerator or your dishwasher uses more power every month?

- How much more or less energy efficient is your household than similar homes in your neighborhood?

With a nifty software tool called Google PowerMeter, consumers will be able to see their home energy information in almost real time on their computer. That will allow all of use to get an idea of where we can make some smart adjustments in energy usage while saving money and altering our lifestyles slightly by our own educated choices.

It is currently in beta testing with Google employees, but let's all hope that it makes it to our homes very soon.
